The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is a Swiss-based foundation launched at the UN in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Working with both governments and businesses, we aim to transform food systems so that they deliver more nutritious food for all people, especially the most vulnerable.

GAIN has operated in Indonesia in 2012 and our MOU with The Ministry of Health. Our current programmes focus on increasing accessibility to and consumer demand for nutritious foods and strengthening the enabling environment around them. Working closely with the Government of Indonesia through programmes such as behaviour change intervention for pregnant mothers and children under two years old, adolescent nutrition, postharvest loss of nutrition in fish, and urban governance for nutrition, we aim to make healthier food choices more affordable, more available, and more desirable in Indonesia.
